What you can expect

  • The day trip to Piton de la Fournaise is the must-see tour on the island of Réunion!

Take a seat in a comfortable Lexus NX300h SUV with leather interior, air conditioning, bottles of mineral water, and tea and coffee available…

The adventure will begin with a drive across the Plaine des Cafres, then continue through the cryptomeria forest on the volcano's forest road.

Discover the immense “Nez de Bœuf” canyon, which offers an incredible panorama of the Rivière des Remparts.

Visit to the enormous Commerson Crater: an impressive lookout point allows you to observe this crater, which is 235 metres deep and 200 metres in diameter.

Continue the journey through the magical and otherworldly landscape of the Plaine des Sables, one of those captivating places that leave you dazzled.

Completely barren and covered with cinders, it suddenly appears before the eyes of drivers below another plateau that is still covered with low vegetation.

It is dominated by Piton Chisny, whose last eruption gave it its moonlike appearance.

Finally, you will arrive at the Pas de Bellecombe-Jacob, a vantage point offering an exceptional panorama of the Piton de la Fournaise volcano and the Enclos Fouqué that surrounds it.

Lunch break at a local restaurant in Bourg-Murat to enjoy Creole cuisine. Vegetarian dishes and snacks are also available. (Meals not included in the tour).

Next, visit the modern Volcano Museum or go to the Grand Bassin vantage point, depending on the time remaining before returning to the drop-off point.

This tour lasts 8 hours in a premium and comfortable vehicle with a private French-speaking/English-speaking guide at your service.

Tips for the day trip: The weather changes very quickly, and the temperature can be cool in the mountains (we often climb to over 1,500 m above sea level). It is necessary to bring protection against the sun, cold and rain (coat, hat, sunglasses, sun cream, umbrella, jumpers and pants, closed shoes).
