Discover the real agricultural life of Madeira through a guided walk in the heart of banana plantations and family farms. You'll be accompanied by Angela and Stef, passionate French botanical guides who live in this hamlet. With them, you'll explore the terraced plantations where banana trees, sugar cane, and many tropical species grow.
You'll learn how the Madeira banana is grown, how it ripens, and how the locals use the levadas to irrigate their plots. This walk takes you to the heart of the village, where you'll cross the sugar cane plantations and discover many tropical fruit trees: mangos, anonas, passion fruits, papayas… the opportunity to discover the astonishing diversity of these crops and their peculiarities.
Along the way, your guides will share clear and accessible explanations about local farming methods, the history of the village, and how the locals live in harmony with these terraced landscapes.
The outing ends at Angela and Stef's, on a terrace with a splendid view of the sea and the mountains. You'll enjoy a homemade exotic fruit juice, a friendly moment that wraps up this immersion in the rural soul of Madeira.
An authentic, lively, and enriching experience to discover the island differently, getting closer to its inhabitants.
