What you can expect

  • Get an insider’s view of Portogruaro’s Venetian-style architecture and canals on a walking tour alongside a local guide.

Begin your urban walking adventure by meeting your guide at the Portogruaro bus station. Make your way to the greenery of the beautiful town park and head towards the Villa Comunale, a breathtaking example of Renaissance architecture.

Turn the corner towards the ancient St. Andrea mills, which were the centre of Portogruaro's ancient economy and now provide the best views of the town. Marvel at the leaning bell tower and the Cathedral of Sant'Andrea with its beautiful frescoes.

As you stroll, your friendly local guide will tell you interesting facts and anecdotes about the city’s past and the people who have lived here.

Enjoy the local market as well, if you join the longest guided walk, on Thursday at 9:30, with the opportunity to go shopping in a typical, colourful background.

The tour will end at the Tourist Info Point in the amazing Piazza della Repubblica, with the opportunity to find further information and insights as well as to purchase, if you wish, amazing gadgets and souvenirs, local wine and food products and hand made items: in short the excellences of the town and of the surrounding area, that you only can find here. Definitely an added value to this unforgettable experience.
