Overview

  • Begin your journey with a flexible pickup time from your hotel in Siem Reap. Drive to Mechrey Floating Village, a traditional community of about 2,000 residents living on the northern edge of Tonle Sap Lake.
Board a cruise boat and set off to Prek Toal Bird Sanctuary, Southeast Asia's most important breeding ground for globally threatened waterbirds.
Arrive at Prek Toal Floating Village, one of the lake's largest floating communities. Switch to a small, quiet oar boat or a specialised local park vessel to smoothly navigate the dense, flooded mangrove forests without startling the bird colonies.
Explore the sanctuary, which is home to over 150 bird species, including critically rare, large-winged birds that have been driven near extinction elsewhere.
After your visit, return to Mechrey Village and board an air-conditioned car to go back to your hotel.
