Flavours of Northern Gran Canaria for cruise passengers

Immerse yourself in the flavours, aromas, and traditions of northern Gran Canaria on an excursion specially designed for cruise ship passengers. Throughout this experience, you'll discover some of the island's most iconic products: Canarian rum, bananas, wine, mojo sauce, and the unique coffee from the Agaete Valley.

The route will start in Arucas, with a visit to the historic Arehucas Distillery, one of the most famous rum producers in the Canary Islands. During the guided tour, you'll learn about the various stages of production, from the selection of the raw materials to the ageing of the rums in barrels. To round off your visit, you'll enjoy a food tasting of some of its specialities. The guided visit is available in English and German.

The next stop will introduce us to the world of Canarian bananas. At the Banana Museum, you'll learn about the history of this crop, its role in the economy and culture of the islands, and some of the interesting facts about its varieties and production methods. The visit includes a food tasting, and you'll also have the chance to buy artisanal products made with bananas, such as jams, liqueurs, and creams.

Next, we'll head to Agaete, one of the most charming spots in the north of Gran Canaria. There, you'll have about an hour of free time to soak up the harbour atmosphere, stroll through the streets, and choose where to have lunch, with the chance to sample some of the local dishes and products.

In the afternoon, we'll head into the Valle de Agaete, where Finca Los Berrazales awaits us. In this privileged setting, you'll get a first-hand look at the area's agricultural tradition and take part in a fun workshop to make Canarian mojo, one of the most iconic sauces of the islands.

The experience will continue with an introduction to the process of making the estate's wines and a guided tasting of its different varieties.
