What you can expect

Day 01: McLeodganj Tour
Your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and provide a brief introduction to the city tour. Our first stop is the Dalai Lama Temple (Tsuglagkhang Complex), the spiritual heart of Tibetan Buddhism and the residence of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
From the temple, we continue on the Kora Walk, a meditative circumambulation around the complex lined with prayer flags, mani stones, and spinning prayer wheels, offering spectacular views of the Dhauladhar mountains.

Next, we visit the Tibetan Museum, where you'll explore exhibits showcasing Tibet's history, the struggles of exile, and the preservation of Tibetan culture.

Proceeding to Men-Tsee-Khang, the Tibetan Medical & Astro Institute, you will learn about ancient Tibetan healing techniques, herbal medicine, and astrology.

After that, we arrive at the Tibetan Library & Archives, one of the richest repositories of Buddhist texts and manuscripts outside Tibet.

Next, we head to the scenic Bhagsu Nag Temple, an ancient Hindu shrine associated with both Indian and Tibetan spiritual traditions.
This guided tour offers a blend of spirituality, culture, history, and natural beauty, making it an enriching experience for travellers seeking a deeper connection with Tibetan heritage.

Day 02: Dharamshala City Tour

Start your day with a visit to Gyuto Monastery, a renowned centre for tantric meditation and Buddhist philosophy. This monastery, home to the reincarnation of the great Karmapa, offers a serene environment with breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar mountains.

Next, head to the Norbulingka Institute, a hub for preserving Tibetan art and culture. Here, you can witness skilled artisans practising traditional Thangka painting, wood carving, and metalwork.

Continue to Dolma Ling Nunnery, an important centre for Tibetan Buddhist nuns. This quiet sanctuary allows visitors to observe nuns engaged in prayer and daily rituals, offering a glimpse into their disciplined monastic life.

A short drive will take you to Aghanjar Mahadev Temple, a sacred Shiva temple believed to be over 500 years old. Nestled in a serene forest setting, it is said that Arjuna from the Mahabharata meditated here.

After a relaxing lunch (own expense) at a local restaurant, proceed to the Kangra Art Museum, where you can explore the rich history and culture of the Kangra Valley.

Wrap up your tour with a visit to the Kangra Tea Plantation, where you can stroll through lush green tea gardens and learn about the tea-making process. Enjoy a fresh cup of Kangra tea while soaking in the scenic beauty of the plantation.

Finally, you will be dropped back at your hotel in the evening, bringing your enriching Dharamshala city tour to a close.
