Day 2 We try to start the programme around 10.30 and finish 15.30 the tour programme so you have time for yourself. For example, if we take the starting point for the tour of Germany's tallest structure, its iconic TV Tower, located in the vibrant square of Alexanderplatz. You can capture the Berlin Cathedral, the unfinished reconstruction of the City Palace, the Old Museum, the Old National Gallery, the Pergamon Museum, and the Bode Museum.

Just after the island, you see the Forum Fridericianum, which consists of the State Opera, the Law Faculty of Humboldt University, Humboldt University, the State Library, and the first Catholic Church in Berlin St. Hedwig's Cathedral. You are now in the middle of the forum on Bebelplatz – famous as the 'Nazi Book(25.000) Burning Square where you find a memorial in remembrance of the burning of the books 1933.

Shortly after, we arrive at the spectacular Gendarmenmarkt, where you find the former Royal Concert Hall flanked by the German Dom on its south side and the French Dôm on its north side. The square is one of the most beautiful in Europe today!

The next stop of our tour is Checkpoint Charly: one of the most famous border crossings of the Berlin Wall, which almost ended up as the starting point of a third world war.

Along the former border strip, you will see original parts of the Berlin Wall and the site of the "Topography of Terror," one of the most frequently visited documentation centres on the period of National Socialism, the former site of the Headquarters of the SS and Gestapo. 

Right next to it, you find Martin-Gropius-Bau, where exhibitions of the well-known Chinese artist Ai Weiwei and the international exhibition David Bowie have taken place amongst others. In its front, the Prussian Parlement.  The square of Potsdamer Place has been Europe's largest construction site ever since – nowaday. It appears as an ensemble of skyscrapers and futuristic buildings, including the Sony Centre.

Following the border strip, we reach the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, also known as the Holocaust Memorial, which opened in 2005, commemorating the murder of more than 6 million Jews during National Socialism.

Government District consists of the Reichstag/Bundestag and Chancellery, the Soviet Memorial. 

After breakfast, we leave the city of Berlin and head for Potsdam. We start our tour at the Brandenburg Gate, a beautiful neoclassical gate that was once the entrance to the city of Potsdam. Next, we head to the Neues Palais, a vast palace built by the order of King Frederick the Great. Here we will admire the beautiful gardens and fountains and enjoy the palace view from the hill. Then we head to the Stadtschloss Potsdam, an imposing baroque palace that once served as the residence of the Electors of Brandenburg. We then visit the Orangerie, an impressive building that once served as a greenhouse for exotic plants and has now been converted into a museum. Finally, we will go to the Glienicker Brücke, a famous bridge exchange point for spies between East and West during the Cold War. We will enjoy the beautiful view over the Havel River and the surrounding palaces here. This is just an example of a tour; depending on your interests and preferences, the tour can be customised.

Sanssouci Park, Potsdam, Germany

The Protestant Church of Peace (German: Friedenskirche) is situated in the Marly Gardens on the Green Fence (Am Grünen Gitter) in the palace grounds of Sanssouci Park in Potsdam, Germany. The church was built according to the wishes and with the close involvement of the artistically gifted King Frederick William IV and designed by the court architect, Ludwig Persius. After Persius' death in 1845, the architect Friedrich August Stüler was charged with continuing his work. Building included work by Ferdinand von Arnim and Ludwig Ferdinand Hesse [de] also. The church is located in the area covered by the UNESCO World Heritage Site Palaces and Parks of Potsdam and Berlin. The cornerstone of the churchhouse was laid on 14 April 1845. The building was dedicated on 24 September 1848, though construction continued until 1854. The structure resembles a High Medieval Italian monastery.
