The Blue Lagoon
The Blue Lagoon geothermal spa is one of the most popular attractions in Iceland. The steamy lagoon flows in a lava formation. The warm waters are rich of silica minerals and swimming in the Blue Lagoon is reputed to help people suffering from skin diseases. The water temperature in the swimming area of the lagoon averages 37-39 degree Celsius. The lagoon is fed by the water output from Svartsengi, a nearby geothermal power plant. The water is fed into the lagoon for recreational and medicinal swimming.
The Blue Lagoon is situated approximately 13 km from the Keflavik International Airport and 39 km from the capital city of Reykjavik. That is a 20 minute drive from the airport and a 40 minute drive from Reykjavik.
The Blue Lagoon – Comfort package offers you a 4 hour stay in the lagoon.
Note: Admission tickets to the Blue Lagoon is NOT included but can be purchased as an add-on.
