What you can expect

  • Embark on an unforgettable journey to Nikko, a destination where nature, history, and culture converge. Begin your exploration in the heart of Nikko National Park, renowned for its pristine landscapes and breathtaking scenery. Surrounded by towering mountains, lush forests, and tranquil lakes, this park offers a perfect introduction to the natural wonders of the region.

Start your adventure with a visit to the serene Lake Chūzenji, nestled within the park. Take a leisurely stroll along its shores while learning about its volcanic origins and the unique ecosystem that thrives here.

Next, marvel at the dramatic beauty of Kegon Falls, where water cascades from a height of over 300 feet. This iconic waterfall, set against a backdrop of towering cliffs, provides stunning photo opportunities and a deep connection to nature.

Continue your journey to the historic Nikko Toshogu Shrine, celebrated for its intricate carvings, vibrant colours, and cultural significance. Wander through the elaborately decorated grounds with your guide, uncovering the history and legends that make this UNESCO World Heritage Site a must-visit.

Nearby, visit Nikko Futarasan Shrine, a sacred site dedicated to the deities of the surrounding mountains. With its rustic beauty and serene atmosphere, the shrine embodies the harmonious relationship between Japan’s spiritual and natural worlds.

Stroll along the path of Narabi Jizo, also known as the “Jizo Statues in a Row.” These stone statues, believed to protect travellers and children, line the banks of the Daiya River. Each statue, adorned with red bibs and caps, tells its own silent storey and adds a touch of spiritual charm to the landscape.

Walk across the iconic Shinkyo Bridge, a vivid vermilion structure spanning the Daiya River. Admire the picturesque views and learn about its significance in connecting the sacred and the everyday worlds.

Unwind in the peaceful gardens of the Nikko Tamozawa Imperial Villa Memorial Park, a former imperial retreat showcasing traditional Japanese architecture and offering insights into royal life during the Meiji era.

For those seeking a unique experience, step back in time at Edo Wonderland, an interactive cultural park where the Edo period comes alive through samurai shows, traditional performances, and hands-on activities.

After a full day immersed in Nikko’s beauty and history, relax as you return to Tokyo, carrying memories of a truly enriching adventure.
