Royal Palace of Fez

The Royal Palace of Morocco Dar el-Makhzen is a palace in the municipality of Méchouar Fez Jdid, in Fes, Morocco. Covering an area of 80 hectares, the site includes the royal palace, a mosque, a madrasah (founded by the Merinids in 1320) and a weapons square. Its facade on the Place des Alaouites consists of huge 7 copper doors, which were carved by a local craftsman around 1970.

Borj Sud

Bab Bou Jeloud

Bab Boujloud Bab boujloud or Bou Jeloud Gate is one of the gates of the ancient Medina of Fez Balii and opening onto Fez el-Jdid. Built in the 12th century, It consists of three architectural elements, two of which are smaller symmetrical and is covered with blue ceramics, colour of the city of Fez on the outside and green, colour of Islam on the medina side.

The Chouara tannery is one of the three tanneries in the city of Fes, Morocco. It is the largest tannery in the city and one of the oldest. It is located in Fes el Bali, the oldest district of the medina of the city, near the Saffarin Medasa along the Wadi Fes (also known as Wadi Bou Khrareb). Since the city's inception, the tanning industry has operated continuously in the same way as in the first centuries. Today, the city's tanning industry is considered one of the main tourist attractions. The tanneries are full of round stone containers filled with dye or white liquids to soften the skins. Leather goods produced in tanneries are exported worldwide.

Fontaine Nejjarine
