What you can expect

Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Accademia Gallery in Florence with our private guided tour.

The first hall we will visit inside the museum is the Hall of the Colossus, where we will find the original plaster model of the marble sculpture of the Rape of the Sabines by Giambologna, surrounded by a collection of art pieces from the Mannerist school dating back to the 15th and 16th century.

Continuing our visit we will arrive in the Hall of the Prisoners, which takes its name from the four large sculptures depicting male nudes known as the Slaves or Prisoners, originally commissioned for the tomb of Pope Julius II. Michelangelo left them unfinished to depict the eternal struggle of human beings to free themselves from their material trappings.

In this hall we also find the statue of St. Matthew, also by Michelangelo, and the Palestrina Pietà.

Lastly, at the far end of the gallery, we find Michelangelo's David in all its majestic glory, the most famous statue in Florence and, perhaps, in all the world.
