Lagos is a city in the Algarve region, in the south of Portugal. It is known for its walled old town, cliffs and Atlantic beaches. Some steep wooden steps lead to the sandy cove of Praia do Camilo. The nearby Ponta da Piedade cliffs offer stunning views of the headland and a lighthouse. The Church of Santo António, an ornate church from the 18th century, is located opposite the Castelo dos Governadores, a castle with a facade and baroque towers.

The cliffs of the Ponta da Piedade headland is one of the finest natural features of the Algarve. This dramatic limestone coastline is formed of sea pillars, fragile rock arches and hidden grottos, all of which have been chiselled-out by savage winter storms. The Ponta da Piedade is a bleak and windswept headland, and the beauty of the region is only discovered on descending the cliffs, where the exposed cliffs reveal their golden colour, and the turquoise sea waters lap precariously balanced rock formations. The headland can only be described as stunning.

Praia da Rocha

.Praia da Rocha is a beach in the municipality of Portimão, in the Algarve (Portugal). This beach has a large expanse of sand, covering a total area of about 146,000 m², along 1.5 km of coastline. Next to the beach stands the Santa Catarina Fortress, built in the 17th century to defend the bar of the Arade river. The beach owes its name to the rocks that lie between the sand and the sea. It is one of the most famous in the Algarve, if not in the whole country. Every year, during the summer, the beach fills with tourists from all over the world and, despite its great extension, it is rare that it is not crowded with people. In recent years, it has hosted the Mundialito de Futebol de Praia, which is played in a stadium built for the purpose and which has a capacity for 3000 people. Next to the beach, there are several restaurants and bars that attract a large number of tourists, both during the day and at night.

Marina de Portimao

.Surrounded by some of the most famous and beautiful beaches in Europe, the Marina of Portimão, has assumed a position of Portuguese leader, as the preferred destination for Mega-yachts up to 50m. Located in the safest bar in the country, in the wide estuary of the River Arade, it extends over an area of about 25 ha, framed by the forts of Santa Catarina and S. João and by magnificent support facilities. The Marina has deep waters that allow entering and leaving it, at any tide, wide entrance and spacious manoeuvring areas, sheltered from the prevailing winds.
