Following the path of the mighty Danube, the next stop is the Golubac Fortress. Perched on towering cliffs at the river’s widest point, this medieval stronghold enchants visitors with its mystical towers and fairytale-like atmosphere. Climb to one of the fortress’s viewpoints and you’ll understand why locals claim the Danube resembles the sea from this vantage point. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views from one of Serbia’s best-preserved fortifications, located on the very entrance to the Đerdap Gorge and National Park.
