What you can expect

  • The Uros Islands are located 8 km from the city of Puno. This excursion lets you visit one of the most important attractions in Puno Bay on Lake Titicaca: an ancient civilisation that lives among reeds, or totoras. This Aymara-speaking community still practices skills such as fishing, bird hunting, and egg gathering.
The men are skilled builders and helmsmen of totora reed rafts, and the women are skilled tapestry weavers.

Taquile is a stunning natural island located 22 miles (35 kilometres) from the city of Puno.
The inhabitants of this island are especially known for their fine textiles, which rank among the best Peruvian handicrafts. On the island, travellers will find a spectacular view of the lake and a simple stone gateway that welcomes visitors.
In addition, Taquile Island boasts beautiful landscapes and archaeological sites. However, the place's most important asset is its inhabitants of Quechua origin, who are known for their hospitality and charisma towards visitors.
