Itinerary
Meet the instructor in the designated parking area.
After being equipped with a helmet, an individual headlamp, knee pads, and gloves if desired, you will walk for 15 minutes over the roped lava flows to reach the entrance to the tunnel, while your guide describes the surrounding landscape.
You will enter the lava tunnels, where your guide will provide some initial explanations while you get used to the darkness.
Explore the lava caves: ceilings from which dark chocolate seems to be dripping (stalactites), lava benches, forests of stalagmites, a “dodo,” a “shark,” and many more things if you let your imagination run wild. Mostly standing, sometimes bending over or crouching, you will progress slowly through the tunnels at your own pace.
After 2 to 3 hours, you will leave the lava caves to conclude the experience.
For photography enthusiasts, the team will take the time to help you create your own photo essay.
