Your adventure begins on the vibrant Rua Siqueira Campos, where you will meet your local guide. The first part of the experience is pure authenticity: we will go up to the community by mototaxi for those seeking adrenaline, or by “cabritinho” (a community van) for those who prefer a more relaxed and traditional route used by the locals. Our first stop is at Mirante da Coroa, which offers a spectacular view of Botafogo and Christ the Redeemer, perfect for the first photos.
From there, we continue on foot for a deep dive into the area. We will walk along the face of Botafogo, passing over the historic São João Batista Cemetery, a surprising angle of the city. You will learn about the history of the Asilo Português and visit the iconic Church of São Benedito, on Rua Euclides da Rocha, with a breathtaking view of Copacabana.
The highlight is the climb to the Mirante dos Cabritos. Get ready for a 360-degree view that encompasses Botafogo Cove, Christ the Redeemer, Copacabana Beach, Leme, Sugarloaf Mountain, Niterói and the city centre. On the way down, we explore the heart of the community: we will pass by daycare centers and sports courts, observing local daily life. Tabajaras is a true open-air graffiti gallery, and you'll see incredible murals all along the way. We finish in complete safety by returning to the Siqueira Campos metro station.
Why this itinerary is a winner:
- Flexibility: Offering the motorcycle taxi and the van (cabritinho) appeals to both the young adventurer and those seeking comfort.
- Culture and History: The tour goes beyond the visual, telling the storey of the Asilo and the Church, which adds cultural value.
- Iconic Views: You offer the three biggest postcard views of Rio (Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, and Copacabana) from a single, exclusive angle.
- Urban Art: The focus on graffiti turns the walk into a visit to a living museum.
