What you can expect

  • Step into Tijuca National Park — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — on a small group rainforest hike with return transfer included. Just 40 minutes from Copacabana, this is the wild side of Brazil most visitors never find. Discover exceptional biodiversity, hidden waterfalls, ancient caves, and native wildlife deep in one of Brazil's most remarkable ecosystems, ending with panoramic views of Rio's iconic skyline. No experience needed — just bring your sense of adventure.

    • Small-group experience: Enjoy a personalised rainforest adventure, with an expert eco-guide focused on your group and the freedom to explore at a comfortable pace.

    • The best thing to do in Rio on a rainy day: In a rainforest, rain is part of the experience — waterfalls at full force, the forest at its most vivid, trails all to yourself. Our guides turn any weather into an unforgettable experience. Rain is no barrier — this tour runs safely in all weather. Bring a poncho and you're set!

    • Tijuca National Park: Step into one of the world's largest urban rainforests and discover its remarkable history, from near destruction by coffee plantations to its restoration tree by tree.

    • Discover Tijuca's waterfalls — from Cascatinha Taunay, the park's tallest at 35 metres (115 ft), to the hidden Cachoeira das Almas or Diamantina deeper in the forest. Expect 2 to 4 waterfalls depending on the season, ending at Baronesa where you can refresh under a natural mountain waterfall shower.

    • Rainforest hike: Go deeper into the rainforest on 2–4.5 km (1.2–2.8 miles) of lush natural trails, with some elevation gain, tree roots and rocky sections adding adventure. No experience needed—your guide sets a comfortable pace for an immersive experience.

    • Caves Trail: Venture into the Belmiro, Archer, and Bats Grottoes — hidden among dramatic granite rock formations deep in the rainforest. The Bats Grotto is Brazil's largest gneiss cave, stretching over 100 metres (328 ft) from entrance to exit.

    • Wildlife Encounters: Keep your eyes open for monkeys, toucans, sloths, and giant butterflies as you hike through the forest. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed — nature decides.

    • Chinese Viewpoint: Emerge from the rainforest to sweeping panoramic views of Sugarloaf Mountain, Christ the Redeemer, Copacabana, Ipanema, and Rio's full skyline. The Chinese Viewpoint is closed on weekends and public holidays — on those days, the equally scenic Canoas Viewpoint takes its place.
