We travel from the Banat to Transylvania, to breathtaking gorges, pass through the mighty Iron Gate on the Danube by boat, visit the millennia-old Roman spa town of Baile Herculane in the wild Cerna Valley mountains, visit imposing fortresses, old towns and ruins, roam through the last primeval beech forests in Europe, sample the ancient Romanian wine culture in the private wine estate, visit the Râmeț Monastery and the amazing ice cave of Scarisoara in the unique Apuseni Mountains, visit perhaps the most impressive salt mine in the world, including an underground lake and amusement park, and always relax in a private guesthouse with a panoramic pool and a dreamlike view.

Day 1: Arrive in Timisoara and take a shuttle to Orșova in the Iron Gates National Park, where the Danube meets the mighty Carpathians. Afterwards, a traditional welcome barbecue evening with Romanian mici and homemade Țuică, or homemade regional wine (schnapps)
Day 2: Private boat ride through the national park with an easy hike.
Relax by the panoramic pool overlooking the Danube.
Day 3: The ancient spa resort of Baile Herculane in the Cerna Valley Mountains with swimming in hot springs and relaxing by the panoramic pool with a dreamlike view.
Day 4: Visit to the Roman ruins of Sarmizegetusa, visit to the mighty Corvin Fortress in Hunedoara with an overnight stay at a private winery.
Day 5: Visit to the Râmeț Monastery, drive through the picturesque Apuseni Mountains to Scarisoara.
Day 6: Visit to the ice cave, drive through the Ordancusiei Gorge, visit to the Poarta lui Ionele cave, drive through the beautiful Aries Valley to Rimetea, with an overnight stay in the traditional Romanian “Conac” castle, including a spa area.
Day 7: Visit the world-famous Turda Salt Mine with a boat ride on the underground lake, an easy hike through the spectacular Turda Gorge, and a drive through the Valisoara Gorge with Cavalerilor Castle
Day 8: Transport to Cluj-Napoca Airport
