What you can expect

  • Experience tranquility and rejuvenation at Polynesian Spa's Pavilion Pools, an area reserved for adults and young adults aged 12 and over. This historic section offers a serene environment where guests can unwind in geothermal mineral waters sourced from two natural springs, each providing unique therapeutic benefits.

The Pavilion Pools feature seven hot pools with varying temperatures to suit different relaxation and wellness needs:
Three Priest Spring acidic mineral hot pools: Maintained between 102°F and 106°F (39°C–41°C), these pools are known for their natural therapeutic properties, helping to relieve muscle tension, aches, and pains.
Three cascading Rachel Spring alkaline mineral hot pools: With temperatures ranging from 100°F to 104°F (38°C–40°C), these pools are ideal for nourishing and softening the skin, offering a gentle and restorative soak.
*One deep Rachel Spring alkaline stand-up pool: Heated to 100°F (38°C) and 1.3 metres (4.3 feet) deep, this pool is designed for light movement and gentle stretching, allowing guests to engage in slow, mindful exercise.

For added wellness benefits, guests can enjoy the foot reflexology walk, a stone path designed to stimulate pressure points in the feet that correspond to major body areas, promoting better circulation and energy flow throughout the body.

The Pavilion Pools also include convenient amenities to ensure a comfortable and stress-free visit. Spacious changing rooms with private cubicles are available, along with towel hire and swimming costume hire. Lockers are available for hire to securely store personal belongings, while free storage tubs are provided for those not needing locked storage.

For those seeking a more luxurious soaking experience, guests may consider the family-friendly Deluxe Lake Spa, which offers panoramic lake views, geothermally heated recliners, and a relaxation lounge—perfect for unwinding in a premium setting.

Whether you’re looking for therapeutic relief or simply a moment of quiet escape, the Pavilion Pools at Polynesian Spa provide an authentic geothermal swimming experience in a peaceful and restorative environment, making it a must-visit for those exploring Rotorua.
