Begin with pickup in Rovaniemi and drive a short distance away from artificial light to a controlled natural area used specifically for this experience.

Before moving, listen as the guide explains the rules of the night. These rules may change. Then, take part in a slow, structured walk on snow, to reach a destination and to observe nature. Notice sound, breath, and the difficulty of doing simple things in cold darkness.

At the main stop, remain in one location. There is no chasing. A warm snack and hot drink are served at a specific moment, not when people are hungry, but when conditions allow it. While eating, the guide introduces short, unexpected topics such as:
