Deep within Santa Claus Forest, on the edge of Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi, the Forest Elf has hidden small treasures for families brave enough to search for them.

Nobody knows exactly where the Forest Elf lives. Some believe he quietly watches over Santa Claus Forest throughout the year, helping Santa Claus prepare for Christmas. Others say he only leaves behind clues and tiny treasures for those willing to explore the enchanted forest.

Your adventure begins with a short drive from Rovaniemi to Santa Claus Forest. Upon arrival, every child receives their own lantern before the Forest Elf's storey is revealed and the treasure hunt begins.

Santa Claus Forest is unlike any other forest in Lapland. Every tree has been dedicated to someone from somewhere around the world, creating the perfect setting for a magical treasure hunt. The Forest Elf's clues lead families from one discovery to the next. Sometimes the clue is simply a person's name, guiding explorers to the very tree that hides the next surprise.

Nobody knows exactly what the Forest Elf has packed inside the treasure pouches. However, the little surprises often celebrate the traditions, wildlife and culture of Finnish Lapland — at least, that's how the Forest Elf has always done things.

As the adventure continues beneath the towering Christmas trees, children become immersed in the storey while parents enjoy watching their excitement grow with every clue and every treasure discovered.

The trail eventually leads to a traditional Finnish wilderness shelter where a warm campfire awaits.

Relax around the fire while enjoying a traditional Finnish BBQ dinner with a choice of meat or vegetarian options, accompanied by warm Finnish glögi. For dessert, you'll be served one of Finland's favourite traditional delicacies: Leipäjuusto (Finnish squeaky cheese) with homemade cloud-berry jam — a true taste of Lapland.

As darkness settles over Santa Claus Forest, lanterns glow beneath the trees and countless stars appear overhead. If weather and sky conditions are favourable, you may even witness the Northern Lights dancing above the forest.

This is not a Northern Lights hunting tour. Seeing the Aurora Borealis is always a wonderful bonus, but the true heart of the experience is the magical atmosphere of Santa Claus Forest, the Forest Elf's treasure hunt, authentic Finnish food, and unforgettable moments shared together as a family.
