We will start our trip from your hotel in Salou, Cambrils or Tarragona at the agreed time, heading towards our first stop, the charming village of Siurana, in a journey of approximately 1 hour.
We will head to the beautiful town of Montblanc, famous for housing the largest walled enclosure of Catalonia. We will stroll through its streets and contemplate the church of Santa Maria de Montblanc, the first Romanesque church located in the upper part of a village.
After exploring Montblanc, we will visit the Celler Cooperatiu de Cornudella de Montsant, a modernist winery founded in 1919 and considered an industrial monument. The winery stands out for its parabolic arches designed by the architect Cèsar Martinell. Here, you can tour the facilities, learn about the history and culture of wine, and enjoy a guided wine tasting. If you wish, you can also visit the vineyards in a 4×4 and take a walk along the old Carthusian Way to the winery.
Time for lunch in a typical regional farmhouse.
We will continue to Siurana, a picturesque village known for its stone houses and cobblestone streets. Situated on top of a cliff, it dominates the only entrance to the village, offering spectacular views of the surroundings, including the Siurana Reservoir and the surrounding brown and red mountains.
Our visit will include the Castle of Siurana, an ancient Arab fortress in ruins that stands at the highest part of the village. Although today only the base of the tower and some walls remain, this place was of great importance in the Middle Ages. It was the last castle reconquered from the Muslims by the Christian army in Catalonia, marking a significant milestone in the history of the region.
We will return to Salou, completing a day full of history, culture and flavours. We will drop you off at your hotel, concluding a day full of discoveries and unforgettable experiences.
