Know before you book

    • Transport will depart from San Juan starting at 2 pm to allow for time in the village of La Parguera to enjoy dinner and the sunset! We typically return around 11 pm.
    • The total tour time on the boat is about one hour from departure to return. Maximum swim time is 20 minutes to preserve the organism and habitat.
    • Lifejackets are available upon requests.
    • All guests are required to pay for a seat, regardless of age, as the head count is monitored by the DRNA and US Coast Guard.
    • Please keep the brightness and flash on your phone turned off while on the boat! The environment needs to be as dark as possible for maximum visibility!
    • In accordance with EU regulations about consumer rights, activities services are not subject to the right of withdrawal. Supplier cancellation policy will apply.

What you can expect

  • Have a once in a lifetime encounter with bioluminescence!!

    Set out on a cross island adventure to experience the energy, food, culture, and magic of La Parguera! La Parguera is a quaint fisherman's village with restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, and local vendors. For guests driving themselves to the boat, we recommend getting to the village early to find parking, relax, and enjoy La Parguera before the trip!

    After exploring the village, revelling in an authentic dinner at a local restaurant, and watching the sunset over the Caribbean Sea, hop aboard our boat and set out to the original Bioluminescent Bay. Navigating to the darkest area, you will be able to safely touch, see, and swim in the bioluminescence, or enjoy from the boat. As the only location in Puerto Rico where guests are able to swim in the bioluminescence, this is without question the best way to do the bay!

    Touted by most as an “indescribable” experience, let the magic of the bioluminescence sparkle and dance in the water around you. Our captain will find the darkest, and most active location, to allow the best visibility and interaction! All guests are encouraged to swim for maximum visibility of the bioluminescence! However, swimming is NOT REQUIRED. Goggles are also encouraged for an underwater view of this glowing organism!

    The visibility and intensity are impossible to guarantee as this is a naturally occurring phenomenon dependant on the moon cycle, weather, and currents. While the weather and currents can change frequently and without notice, please plan your visit around the moon cycle as best possible!

    We will run the trip rain or shine and as the moon grows larger as this may be the only opportunity some guests have to experience bioluminescence!

    Please keep the brightness and flash on your phone turned off while on the boat! The environment needs to be as dark as possible for maximum visibility!
