Experience a special encounter with the vibrant culture of the indigenous communities of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. This tour not only gives you knowledge, but also real insights, personal conversations, and moments of connection with nature and tradition – authentic, respectful, and intimate.
Your tour is conducted in Spanish, but can also be in English upon request. The meeting point is the restaurant at the Eco-Hotel Taironaka (Don Diego River). You have the option of arriving by boat (at an additional cost) and enjoying the impressive natural landscape on the way. You will receive a traditional drink as a welcome before your indigenous guide personally opens the approximately 1-hour tour.
Together, you will explore the historic terraces and learn more about their spiritual and cultural significance. Then, you'll visit the antiquities exhibition, where the history of the region and its indigenous peoples is vividly explained to you. The special finale is a meeting with other members of the community – an authentic encounter that gives you a deep insight into their culture.
After the tour, you can dine in the hotel restaurant or take a refreshing dip in the Don Diego River. If you would like to extend your experience, you can also book our Cacao Tour in advance, which is also led by our team.
