Arrival at Schotia Safaris Private Game Reserve
Begin your adventure by arriving at Schotia Safaris’ main reception. You’ll be greeted by friendly staff and your experienced game ranger, who will provide a brief overview of the day’s itinerary and safety guidelines.
Afternoon Game Safari
Board a custom open-air safari vehicle and venture into the reserve’s diverse landscapes. Your knowledgeable guide will help you track and observe a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, and numerous antelope species. Schotia is renowned for its dense lion population, offering excellent opportunities for close encounters with these majestic predators.
Sunset Refreshments
As the sun begins to set, the safari will pause at a scenic spot where you can stretch your legs and enjoy light refreshments. Soak in the tranquil beauty of the African bush as the horizon is painted in vibrant hues of orange and red.
Evening Game Drive
Continue your safari experience as the nocturnal wildlife awakens. Spot hyenas, jackals, and other elusive creatures under the expert guidance of your ranger. The reserve’s unique environment comes alive in the evening, offering a completely different perspective of the African wilderness.
Traditional Boma Dinner
Return to the cosy boma, a traditional open-air dining area, illuminated by a crackling fire. Indulge in a hearty, freshly prepared South African meal, featuring local favourites such as braaied meats, potjiekos (slow-cooked stew), and freshly baked bread. Vegetarian and other dietary options are available upon request. As you dine, share stories of your safari adventure with fellow travellers under the starlit sky.
Return to Reception
After a memorable evening, your ranger will guide you back to the main reception area. From here, you can either head back to your accommodation or continue your journey in the Eastern Cape.
