Yamadera (Risshaku-ji Temple)

Yamadera (Risshaku-ji Temple)
Begin your journey at the legendary Yamadera, a sacred mountain temple founded in AD 860. Climb the famous stone staircase through ancient cedar forests to scenic viewpoints overlooking the valley. Experience the tranquil atmosphere that inspired the renowned haiku poet Matsuo Basho during his journey in The Narrow Road to the Deep North.

Mogami River Cruise
Cruise through the spectacular Mogami River Gorge aboard a traditional sightseeing boat. Admire dramatic cliffs and seasonal landscapes while listening to the boatman perform the traditional Mogami River Boat Song, a cherished local cultural experience.

Ginzan Onsen
Stroll through one of Japan's most enchanting hot spring towns, lined with beautifully preserved Taisho-era wooden inns, nostalgic gas lamps, stone bridges, cafés, souvenir shops, and public foot baths. Zao Fox Village
Visit one of Japan's most unique wildlife parks, where over 100 free-roaming foxes can be seen up close. In Japanese folklore, foxes are regarded as messengers of Inari and symbols of prosperity and good fortune.

Zao Ropeway
Ride the famous two-stage Zao Ropeway for breathtaking panoramic mountain views. Lunch is at your own expense.

Okama Crater (Seasonal)
