A Quiet Escape in the Heart of Seoul
Just steps from Daehakro’s lively streets and theatres, a quiet alley leads to PROUST, a perfume atelier housed in a renovated Korean hanok built in the 1930s.
Nearly a century old, the hanok has been thoughtfully transformed into a modern fragrance studio while preserving its traditional charm.
With its peaceful garden and intimate atmosphere, PROUST offers a retreat from the busy city—a place to slow down, explore your senses, and create something uniquely yours.
Every Scent Has a Story
At PROUST, we believe fragrance is deeply connected to memory, emotion, and personal experience.
A favourite place, childhood memory, or ordinary moment can inspire a beautiful fragrance. If you feel comfortable, you are welcome to share your stories as you create; we are always happy to listen.
Prefer to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere quietly? That is equally welcome. There is no pressure to share—your experience can be as personal or peaceful as you wish.
Discover Your Personal Scent
Explore over 500 fragrance materials, including natural essences and ingredients used in fine perfumery.
With guidance from our fragrance specialists, begin by discovering seven signature scent profiles and exploring the notes that appeal to you.
Whether you love fresh citrus, delicate florals, warm woods, or something unexpected, you will have the opportunity to discover new scents and refine your preferences.
Create Your Own Perfume
Choose your favourite materials and learn how different notes interact.
Experiment with combinations, adjust the balance, and refine your formula with professional guidance. Designed for beginners and fragrance enthusiasts alike, the workshop requires no previous experience.
At the end, take home your own 50ml custom-made perfume—a personal reminder of your time in Seoul.
Professional Perfumery in a Historic Hanok
PROUST is more than a perfume-making workshop. Our atelier has developed scents for established companies and brands, including Hanwha Life, The Coffee Bean, Bodyfriend, and Chosun Hotel.
We bring this professional experience into our workshops, combining fragrance expertise with the welcoming atmosphere of a historic Korean home.
Just a five-minute walk from Hyehwa Station, PROUST brings together traditional Korean architecture, contemporary perfumery, and personal creativity.
Whether you arrive with a storey to share or simply wish to spend a quiet moment creating something beautiful, we look forward to welcoming you.
