Welcome to my home town Šibenik:)
I am so glad you are considering me for your local tourist guide.
As a work as a TV presenter and a book writer ( ex stand up comedian, don't ask why:), I am sure I will be able to present to you my city in interesting, yet funny way, starting from history, architecture, customs, famous personalities, souvenirs and food & wines, off course:)
My strongest wish is that you learn a lot about my city, but in a interactive and NOOOOOT boring way:) And yes, history can be fun & interesting!:)
BRIEF PROGRAM:
Let us meet in the Visiani Park, in front of the statue of king Petar Krešimir IV ( so you will first learn why Šibenik is called town of Krešimir), continue our walk to Poljana-a main square and Croatian National theatre. Here I will teach you why it is called among the locals -the Mazzoleni theatre ( Ok, you will learn who was Ester Mazzoleni , but this is just an excuse for me to start bragging about Drazen Petrovic, Goran Visnjic, Maksim Mrvica…- internationally famous people born in my Sibenik!!)
As we walk through Kalelarga-so called Greasy street, I will talk about local specialities, souvenirs , traditional costumes, mentality of local people, and our character in general, so you will learn about -SPITE FROM SIBENIK.
Off course, as we pass by the beautiful palaces, churches and convents ( Saint John, Holy Spirit, Saint Chrysogonus, saint Lucy, saint Lawrence..etc.) you will learn about Croatian history, but I promise not to torture you with the dates, but the important stories behind it!
We will pass Mala loža ( previously called -the belly of the city), Marulic square ( ex market, today the best place for your brunch!), stone bowls AMOR DI CANI ( you will learn why people here are crazy about their dogs & cats), MEASURE STICKS ( venetian and Šibenik) and stop to admire Saint James cathedral - the beauty of the City! Trust me, there are 6156 reasons why it is on the
UNESCO list as a protected cultural heritage.
Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes ( we can always prolong extra 30 minutes if you will have a lot of questions:)
I will give you the best tips what to do if you are into:
-culture: fortresses saint Nicolas, saint John, Barone and saint Michael…City Museum, Church Museum and recently opened HOUSE OF DALMATIAN DOG :)
- sports activities: bungee, diving, biking…
- excursions: National park Krka, National park Kornati, the islands and the mountains in the county
-food & wine: the local restaurants and wineries in the surroundings
-night life: well, this depends if you want to come home at midnight or midday:)
Can't wait to meet you and see you soon in Šibenik:)
