From the most religious to the less devout, everyone in Palermo loves Santa Rosalia, affectionately called “la Santuzza.” The Festino in honour of the patron saint is celebrated on July 14 each year is one of the biggest events in Sicily. The fireworks display, by the sea, concludes the solemn celebrations.
