Siena (Pass by)

An influential figure in the history of Siena, is Catherine Benincasa. Her storey is one full of determination, mystery and devotion to her belief. During the tour, you wil learn more about her and how she worked tirelessly to help the sick and troubled in her short 33 years of life.

Piazza del Campo (Pass by)

Twice a year, on July 2nd and August 16th, the seventeen areas of Siena gather on Piazza del Campo for their traditional horse races, ‘Il Palio’. Only ten areas get to race each time and are represented by a horse and its ‘fantino’. The races are the highlight of the year and months before, celebrations are being held in preparation.

Torre del Mangia (Pass by)

While the tower is situated at the lowest point of the city, it is by far the highest building. Torre del Mangia is visible from far away and has an incredible panoramic view, if you choose to take on the challenge of climbing all of the stairs to the top. Construction on the tower started in 1338 and it took ten years to complete, while the oldest clock was placed before that happened.

Fortezza Medicea (Pass by)

Also known as the Medici fortress of Siena, the Forte di Santa Barbara has a long storey and has repeatedly been a symbol of oppression for the residents of Siena. The fortress is situated close to the historic centre of the city and is currently used as a place to host various events.
