Itinerary
- After safely mounting your horse and learning the basics of riding in a saddle, depart Blue Bell Stables as a group in a safe, single-file line.
- Pass the Blue Bell Lodge Campground and head on in to French Creek Nature Area to watch for fish, turtles, blue heron, bald eagles, deer and more.
- Ride peacefully along the willows of French Creek, including (2) culvert crossings, as you watch for fly fishermen and pass remarkable beaver dams.
- Ride deeper into the French Creek Nature Area, passing serene pools of water nestled beside towering flat-faced rocks. Experience six more creek crossings as you journey up and down through some of the most stunning and peaceful parts of the park.
- After leaving the creek, descend into the clearing where Blue Bell Telephone began, passing the site of the old sawmill. Watch for the remnants of the logging run hidden in the grass, then head back up towards the stables, passing the old logging camp where cabins once stood before the Legion Lake Fire of 2017.
