After being picked up as arranged, the first stop will be at Ponta do Sol, a beautiful village, nestling at the foot of towering sea cliffs with some interesting architecture ,including an art deco styled cinema ,dating back to the 1930's. You are then taken to Madalena do Mar, a fishing village ,which, as legend would have it , was founded by a former Polish king , Vladislau 111. It is here that you can do a short walk , through a banana plantation. The tour then passes through Estreito da Calheta and Prazeres for some sightseeing on your way to the next stop at the Lighthouse at Ponta do Pargo. At this Lighthouse viewpoint ,on top of a sea cliff, you can see the crystal clear turquoise waters below. The tour then continues to Cabo , where we stop at a Chapel and where you are afforded an opportunity to walk through a green meadow ,towards another viewpoint. From Cabo ,the tour makes it's way passed Faja da Ovelha , towards the next stop ,a breathtaking aerial type view of the next fishing village ,Paul do Mar. The tour then continues downhill , passed some of the most spectacular mountainside landscapes , on Madeira. At the Paul do Mar stop ,which lasts for 90 minutes, you have enough time to have an optional lunch and or to explore this local fishing village, which has a waterfall , during most of the year. The next stop ,on this South tour ,will be at Calheta , where you visit the sugar cane mill ,which still produces rum and molasses. Also in Calheta , on sea , you will be able to visit the big marina and or the yellow sand beach. Calheta is our last stop from where you will be transported back to Funchal.
