Begin your tour with a pickup from your hotel or cruise port in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. Travel along scenic island roads towards Marigot, the charming capital of the French side.
Enjoy 1.5 to 2 hours of free time to browse the open-air market, explore marina-side shops at Port La Royale, sample local products, or simply relax with a coffee while embracing the atmosphere.
Continue along the coast, passing through Grand Case, often referred to as the culinary heart of the island. Once a quiet fishing village, Grand Case has carefully preserved its traditional Creole character over the years.
While best known for its dining scene, Grand Case also offers a glimpse into everyday island life, where fishing boats still line the shore and the pace remains unhurried and authentic. This area is enjoyed as a scenic drive-by, offering cultural context and coastal views without a scheduled stop.
Next, pass through Orient Bay, one of the island’s most famous stretches of coastline. Often referred to as the “St. Tropez of the Caribbean,” Orient Bay is known for its wide beach, turquoise waters, and lively beach culture. The area is popular for sunbathing, watersports such as parasailing, and its lineup of beach bars and restaurants.
Arrive in Philipsburg, the island’s lively shopping capital. Front Street is world-famous for duty-free shopping, lined with jewellery stores, luxury boutiques, electronics, perfumes, cigars, and souvenir shops, all just steps from the shoreline of Great Bay Beach.
Running parallel to Front Street is Old Street, a charming stretch known for its historic character, colourful buildings, and smaller speciality shops, offering a quieter and more traditional shopping experience.
Enjoy 1.5 to 2 hours of free time exploring Front Street, Old Street, and Back Street at your own pace, whether browsing luxury items, discovering local finds, or simply indulge in the atmosphere of Philipsburg.
The final stop is the Amsterdam Cheese & Liquor Store, a favourite for cheese lovers and souvenir hunters alike. Sample authentic Dutch cheeses and browse a wide selection of wines, spirits, and island specialities.
Cruise ship guests can “opt” to stay in Philipsburg at the end of the tour and return to the cruise port independently by taxi, water taxi, or on foot.
