What you can expect

  • Our Lost in Time series from MMHistory includes two adventures and takes you on a playful journey through the history of Stuttgart. You decide which challenge suits you.

With “The Case of Wilhelm,” experience the perfect introduction to our escape game series. This game is ideal for beginners, families and anyone who enjoys solving puzzles and discovering things together.
“The Case of Max von Bulsenberg” is our most challenging outdoor escape game and is aimed at experienced puzzle lovers looking for a more in-depth challenge.

Your experience starts at the Jubilee Column on the Palace Square, where you will be personally welcomed by historian Michael Mezger. After a short introduction, you will receive your puzzle book with all the clues. With this, you venture out into the city's streets, alleys, and squares to solve exciting tasks. Each stop takes you to historical places, connects the present and the past, and lets you rediscover Stuttgart.

As you make your way, history comes to life. You will discover surprising stories and facts about Württemberg and Stuttgart that are often overlooked. You will follow various clues, decipher hints, and solve tricky riddles. You will find some clues in the puzzle book, while others can be discovered directly on buildings, squares, and small details in the city. There is no time pressure. You can explore Stuttgart at your own pace and enjoy the adventure together outdoors in the middle of the city.

The games are suitable for teenagers and adults who enjoy solving puzzles together. They are particularly popular with families, groups of friends, companies or school classes. In both adventures, you will stay together as a group. “The Wilhelm Case” can be played with 3 to 40 people and “The Max Case” with 3 to 12 people. For large groups, we divide you into teams so that you can experience the same adventure at the same time and everyone can fully immerse themselves in the fun of solving puzzles.

The route leads through Stuttgart's city centre and takes you to well-known landmarks as well as to little insider tips that surprise even locals. The routes are mostly barrier-free and stroller-accessible; individual steps can be bypassed. Please bring flat shoes and weather appropriate clothing. A smartphone is helpful for “The Wilhelm Case,” but not required. For “The Case of Max,” you need a charged smartphone with a mobile internet connection. You will receive the puzzle book and all other game materials on site.

At the end, you will return to Schlossplatz, where you will meet Michael again. Together, you will discuss the solved riddles, share your impressions, and have the opportunity to ask questions about Stuttgart's history. This personal conclusion rounds off the experience and will be remembered for a long time.
