Admire the Etna volcano in the evocative atmosphere of the sunset. The volcano Etna, UNESCO World Heritage site since 2013, with its 3,369 metres is the highest in Europe and is always active. Departure by coach with a multilingual tour guide on board and travelling to the volcano’s lower reaches at 1.800 metres. Short technical stop. Ascent by 4x4 Torsus vans to the crater area at approximately 2,900 metres (*) with licensed guides of the CAI (Italian Alpine Club). Possibility to walk and watch the sunset at a safe distance from the central crater. The darkness makes it possible to observe the eventual volcanic activity. Stop until sunset and return at 1,800 mt. Dinner in a typical restaurant is optional. We strongly recommend warm clothing and suitable shoes. Departure time can vary, depending upon the season and time of sunset. Return in the late evening. * The ascents to Etna’s authorised crater areas are always escorted by guides of the CAI (Italian Alpine Club), who are responsible for the safety of the travellers and are subordinated to the decisions of the relevant authorities in relation to the daily changes of volcanic activity that affect the altitude reached.
