What you can expect

Meet your guide at the Maïdo car park and enjoy the first view over Mafate at sunrise. Stick to this wonderful panorama all morning as you trek along a dizzy track known as “Le Grand Bord” (“The Big Edge”). As you go, see endemic low flora typical of the high altitude.

Then, start downhill, likely with the first clouds, and walk down by “La Glacière” to discover this vibrant historical place.

Hike for approximately 12 kilometres and 500 m climb with a professional mountain leader on a shared tour conducted in French only.
