What you can expect

Embark on a 4-day adventure trip from Surabaya or Malang to Mount Bromo, Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, Pekalen River, and Ijen Crater. Watch the sunrise over the Sea of Sand, swim in the Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, go rafting, and see the blue flames of Ijen Crater.

Start your adventure with a visit to Mount Bromo. Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the Sea of Sand, revealing the vast caldera, the Sea of Sand, and the other surrounding peaks. Explore the caldera and hike up to the crater after sunrise for a closer look.

Next, visit Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, also known as Tumpak Sewa or Tumpak Sewa Falls. Located near the Lumajang and Malang regions, it features a spectacular drop of about 120 metres, cascading over a cliff into a beautiful pool below.

The views are truly spectacular, with the vibrant lake and dramatic volcanic landscape. Safety gear is usually provided, as the sulphur fumes can be quite strong. Many also take the opportunity to see traditional sulphur miners who work in the harsh conditions around the crater.
