Know before you book

  • Not recommended for travellers with poor cardiovascular health
  • Travellers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness

  • Children must be at least 7 years old, comfortable swimming in the ocean and ducking under waves
  • Minimum numbers apply. Our surf lessons require a minimum of 2 participants to run. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund.
  • If you are a single traveller, please free to call our office to confirm availability
  • Sun Screen (SPF 30 or higher).
  • A full water bottle. 1 quart or greater - please help us reduce our environmental footprint by bringing a re-usable bottle
  • A hat with a brim.
  • A beach towel
  • Beach shoes or flips.
  • Sunglasses with a neck strap such as "Chums" or “Croakies”
  • Swim suit or swim trunks
  • Sweatshirt or jumper and a dry change of clothes

Activity itinerary

This is simple introduction for a first time surfer or someone who has tried surfing a few times and needs some pointers. The instruction starts with beach lesson reviewing how to position yourself on the board, paddling techniques and proper stance. Once in the water students will get pointers on manoeuvring waves, balance techniques and surf etiquette. We will take a lunch break mid-day. Guests can relax on the sand and enjoy drinks and food while recharging. Santa Barbara Adventure Company’s surf lessons offer students a great foundation to this exciting sport. Our knowledgeable instructors have over 25 years’ combined experience and will use their skills to point out the finer points of catching waves.
