What you can expect

DAY 1: Travellers will be met at the airport or bus station and transferred to the lodge. After a short rest, they will begin a one-hour introductory walk through the rainforest, guided by a local expert who will take them through the trails of the area. After lunch, around 3:30 pm, you will board a boat to navigate the Tambopata River and enjoy the sunset. Afterwards, we will look for white caimans and capybaras along the banks. With torches in hand, we will explore the shores in search of more wildlife, such as herons, caimans and capybaras, and then enjoy a typical Amazonian dinner.

DAY 2: Sandoval Lake. At 5:00 am, we will have breakfast and get ready to visit Sandoval Lake, a highlight of the Tambopata National Reserve, famous for its biodiversity. You will travel by boat for 1 hour and 20 minutes until you reach the entrance of the lake, then you will walk 3 kilometres to the piranha habitat. You will navigate the lake in a paddle boat to observe birds and monkeys, such as cormorants, herons, eagles and howler monkeys, as well as giant otters and caimans. You will return to the lodge for lunch at 11:45 am and in the evening you will take a night walk through the forest with torches, looking for nocturnal animals and plants such as night monkeys, frogs, tarantulas, rodents, owls and snakes. Amazonian dinner.
DAY 3: Parrot clay lick and sunrise view. At 5:00 am, we will get ready to enjoy a unique spectacle with various species of parrots that inhabit the Amazon region. After a journey of approximately one hour, we will arrive at a clay wall, where the parrots feed on minerals essential for their diet and detoxification. Afterwards, we will enjoy a continental breakfast. We will have free time until lunch and then take a short break before heading to our 30-meter tower, where we will prepare for an extreme adventure activity (zip line). Amazonian dinner.
DAY 4: Monkey House and Sloth Hunt. We will sail for 30 minutes on the Tambopata River to reach the monkey house, where we will be able to observe species such as the squirrel monkey, howler monkey and spider monkey, and interact with them. Then, on the Madre de Dios River, we will look for three-toed sloths in a forest, where we will be able to spot between 2 and 5 of them. Afterwards, we will return to enjoy a continental breakfast before packing up and saying goodbye to Peru's biodiversity. Finally, we will head to the city of Puerto Maldonado for transfer to the airport or bus station.
