Day 1 – Kazbegi, Ananuri & Gudauri
The tour begins at 09:00 AM in Tbilisi and takes you north along the scenic Georgian Military Highway, one of the most picturesque routes in the Caucasus. Your first stop is the Jinvali Water Reservoir, known for its striking turquoise colour and mountain surroundings — an ideal photo spot.
Next, you will visit the Ananuri Fortress Complex, a 16th–18th century architectural monument located on the Aragvi River. Here, you can explore medieval towers, churches, and enjoy panoramic views of the reservoir and surrounding hills.
Continuing the journey, you will pass through Gudauri, Georgia’s famous mountain and ski resort. Depending on the season, you’ll enjoy alpine landscapes, fresh mountain air, and scenic viewpoints overlooking deep gorges and snow-capped peaks.
In the afternoon, you will arrive in Stepantsminda (Kazbegi). The highlight of the day is the iconic Gergeti Trinity Church, dramatically located at 2,170 metres above sea level with Mount Kazbek in the background. You’ll have free time to explore, take photos, and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the high Caucasus. The day ends in the evening, with rest and overnight arrangements in the region or return as planned.
Day 2 – Kakheti Wine Region
On the second day, you will travel east to Kakheti, Georgia’s renowned wine-producing region. The road passes through fertile valleys and vineyards, offering a completely different landscape from the mountains.
You will visit Telavi, the regional capital, where you’ll see historical landmarks such as the Palace of King Erekle II and the famous ancient plane tree. The tour continues to a local winery, where you will learn about Georgia’s traditional qvevri wine-making method and enjoy wine tasting of local varieties.
