The adventure begins with a visit to the top of Monte Brasil, the best viewpoint over Angra do Heroísmo, before continuing along the west side of the island. Along the way, enjoy several scenic stops between the towns of São Mateus and Cinco Ribeiras, where you will also visit a small local cheese factory for a cheese tasting. Continue to the centre of the island to discover the peaceful Lagoa das Patas, before heading north to the stunning natural swimming pools of Biscoitos.

On another day, explore the east side of the island by passing through the towns of Ribeirinha and Porto Judeu, where you will be able to admire the beautiful Goat Islets, a group of volcanic islets just off the coast. Continue to the historic Bay of Salga and the village of Porto Martins before arriving in São Sebastião, home to the oldest church on the island. Depending on the weather conditions, visit the breathtaking viewpoint of Serra do Cume, overlooking Terceira’s famous patchwork of farmland. Continue to Praia da Vitória, the island’s second-largest city, where you can enjoy the panoramic views from Serra do Facho before having free time for lunch and shopping.

In the afternoon, visit the impressive Furnas do Enxofre fumarole field in the centre of the island and, depending on the seasonal schedule and availability, explore the volcanic cave of Algar do Carvão and the lava tube Gruta do Natal (not included).
