we continue at the heart of Tirana, Skanderbeg Square. This central plaza, spanning 40,000 square metres, is surrounded by iconic landmarks like the National History Museum, Opera House, and National Bank. The square is named after Albania’s national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg, and features his impressive 11-meter-tall statue. The square’s eclectic mix of architecture showcases Tirana’s diverse history, from Ottoman-era structures to Fascist and Communist influences, creating a fascinating backdrop for understanding Albanian Culture.

we will then pass by Bunk'Art 2 which is housed in a former nuclear bunker built during the communist era in Albania. It was designed to protect government officials in the event of a nuclear attack.

We cycle to Enver Hoxha Pyramid is a key stop on any Tirana walking tour. Once a museum for Albania’s former communist leader, it’s now a cultural and tech centre. Visitors can climb to the top for panoramic city views — a popular photo spot in Tirana.

This tour stop features a piece of the Berlin Wall, gifted by Germany to Albania, symbolising the fall of communism and the fight for freedom. Just steps away is Postbllok Checkpoint, one of Tirana’s most important communist-era memorials. It includes a bunker, prison pillars, and a mine shaft from the Spac labour camp — a powerful reminder of Albania’s recent past and the value of human rights.

Did you know Mother Teresa was born in Albania? Mother Teresa Square (Sheshi Nënë Tereza) is the second largest square in Tirana. Named after the Albanian-born Nobel Peace Prize laureate and Catholic missionary, the square honours her legacy and stands near major landmarks like the University of Tirana and the National Archaeological Museum.

From Mother Teresa Square, we cycle past the Air Albania Stadium — the national stadium and home to Albania’s football team. With its modern design and red-and-black facade, it’s a major landmark in Tirana.

From Mother Teresa Square, we cycle towards the Grand Park of Tirana for the best viewpoint in the city— one of the city's most popular green spaces. Known for its large artificial lake, shaded paths, and open views, the park is perfect for a relaxing ride. It’s a favourite spot for locals to walk, jog, and enjoy nature just minutes from the city centre.
