Taisekiji Temple

The head temple of Nichiren Shoshu is known as Tahofuji Dainichirenge-san Taiseki-ji, and was founded on October 12, 1290. Approximately 730 years of history. The grounds of Taiseki-ji Temple feature weeping cherry trees, Yoshino cherry trees, mountain cherry trees, double-flowered cherry trees, and moss phlox, which bloom sequentially from late March to mid-April. Visitors can enjoy the cherry blossoms against the backdrop of Mount Fuji from locations such as Jōtōga Mine, Myōgion, and Hōshōen. In front of the Sutra Repository, you can see the Fujikiku cherry tree, designated as a Natural Monument of Fujinomiya City.
