Activity itinerary

Meiji Jingu Shrine

  • 40m
Meiji Jingu Shrine honours Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken, who had led Japan through a period of rapid modernization starting in the second half of the 19th century. The facility's vast forest, which spans approximately 70 hectares, was created by transplanting approximately 100,000 trees donated from all over Japan. The shrine celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2020.

Takeshita Street

  • 45m
The 350-meter Takeshita-dori Street, starting across the road from JR Harajuku Station, is geared towards Tokyo's fashion and trend-conscious set. Lady Gaga is known to shop here—despite its reputation for being kawaii cute, there are also several boutiques that specialise in edgy grunge and goth fashion. For an undeniably Japanese experience, check out the purikura photo booths where you can snap, customise and decorate pictures with your friends before they are printed on the spot.

Shibuya Cat Street

  • 20m
Cat Street is a mostly pedestrianised alley that runs between Harajuku and Shibuya, intersecting with the famous Omotesando Boulevard. It starts at its highest point in Harajuku, crosses Omotesando (where you'll find landmarks like the Ralph Lauren store and Gyre shopping centre), and continues down to the Miyashita-koen crossroads in Shibuya. The street's official name, Kyu-Shibuya-gawa Yuhodoro, is often shortened to "Yuhodo" by locals. Unlike the crowded and energetic Takeshita-dori in Harajuku, Cat Street offers a more relaxed and understated atmosphere. It's a back street with a distinct vibe, reminiscent of the Minami-Aoyama fashion district. While it's gained fame over the years, Cat Street maintains its laid-back charm, avoiding the hard-sell approach of some other shopping areas. Here, you can leisurely explore unique merchandise, from clothing and accessories to food and drinks, all in a more relaxed setting.

Shibuya Crossing

  • 15m
Shibuya Crossing is one of Tokyo's most recognisable sights, pictured in countless films, magazines and blogs. During its busiest times, an estimated 1,000 to 2,500 people forge their way across this crossroads every two minutes, enough to quickly fill up a football stadium.
