Discover a hidden gem right in the centre of the world's busiest metropolis!
Escape the crowded tourist spots and join us for a unique 90-minute urban fishing adventure at the beloved Ichigaya Fish Centre, a retro recreational spot popular among Tokyo locals.
Meet & Hassle-Free Entry
Your experience begins by meeting your friendly, English-speaking guide at Ichigaya Station.
From there, we take a short stroll to the fishing ponds. Don't worry about the language barrier or complicated local rules—your guide will handle the entire registration process, pay the entry fees, and prepare your rental rod and specialised bait for you.
Beginner-Friendly Lesson
Before casting your line, you will receive a fun and easy-to-understand tutorial on traditional Japanese float fishing. You'll learn the secret technique of shaping your bait into a “teardrop” and exactly how to read the movements of the float. Your guide will teach you when to patiently wait and the perfect split-second timing to pull your rod and hook a fish!
1-Hour Fishing Challenge & Scenic Views
Once you know the basics, you'll spend one solid hour fishing for beautiful carp. As you focus on the water, you'll be treated to a surreal, “only-in-Tokyo” atmosphere: enjoy the tranquil breeze while watching the vibrant yellow and orange JR trains smoothly glide by on the tracks just behind the pond. It is a stunning contrast between old-school Japanese recreation and modern city life.
Capture the Moment
Throughout the session, your guide will act as your personal supporter and photographer. When you successfully catch your prized carp, we will use a landing net to safely bring it in (this is a catch-and-release pond). We will make sure to capture your triumphant moment with a photo of you, your catch, and the iconic passing trains in the background.
Whether you are a family, a couple, or a solo traveller, this is the perfect way to experience a slice of everyday local life in Tokyo!
