At the top of Gaisberg (1288m) there are two restaurants en nice hiking paths. To paragliders it is one of the most amazing flying spots in Austria. And you can fly too! Hajo Smit and his vip-paragliding.com team take you along and offer you a dreamy experience you will never ever forget.
From the centre of Salzburg (Mirabell Platz) you can take busline 151 straight to the top of Gaisberg. If you have a car you can drive straight up to the top or park at the landing site Volkschule Guggenthal and take the bus from there so you will land right back at your car.
Friends or relatives who are not flying definitely should come along to enjoy the beauty of the mountain and the views towards Salzburg in the west and the mountain of Salzkammergut in the east. If you are early take some time to look around and have a drink at the restaurant.
When the time to fly comes, it takes just 15 minutes preparation under the guidance of your tandem pilot to be ready to run a few steps, start and fly. Then you soar and you won't believe your eyes how beautiful it is.
We aim for 15-20 minute flights on Gaisberg. Favourable winds allow us to easily fly 20 minutes. With very good conditions we can extend to a 40 minute flight going higher and flying a wider route.
In some cases we can land on top of the mountain. Mostly we fly down 600m lower and land on a large official landing field. ck up to the top with the bus of taxi or go back to the city by bus or taxi.
Start and landing and some flight highlights are taken on video using a GoPro on a selfie stick. During the flight we take additional photo's. After the flight this is all copied to your mobile phone. It's included in the price.
