Join us for an authentic Çiğköfte session in Istanbul, where you will learn to prepare one of Türkiye’s most loved dishes in a truly traditional, home setting.

According to legend, çiğköfte was born when fire was forbidden by a king, often connected to the storey of Prophet Abraham. With no way to cook meat, a hunter mixed raw minced meat with bulgur, spices, and herbs, kneading it until it became edible. This storey is believed to mark the origin of çiğköfte.

Today, çiğköfte is a signature dish of southeastern Türkiye, carrying a unique social energy. It is not just about food. It is about rhythm, conversation, music, and connection. Especially when prepared the traditional way, at home, surrounded by friends.

During this experience, we will of course teach you how to make çiğköfte. But more importantly, we will share the culture, traditions, and social rituals around it. You will be welcomed into our home the same way you would visit close friends in your own city. After getting comfortable and chatting together, we will sit down and start kneading çiğköfte. Along the way, there are playful traditions, jokes, and fun ways to test flavour and spice level. Those stories are best shared in the moment.
