Full-Day Danube Delta Expedition: From Tulcea to the Black Sea Coast

A Complete 9-Hour Experience Join us for a full day of exploration (approx. 09:00 AM – 07:00 PM) on a route that combines the Delta’s wild heart with the vastness of the Black Sea. This is a journey designed for those who want to see it all: from hidden lakes and bird colonies to ancient forests and wild beaches.

Morning: Navigation through the Heart of the Delta Our adventure begins at 09:00 AM from Tulcea Port. We quickly leave the main branch to enter a world of water and greenery. We navigate through the Litcov Channel and cross a chain of spectacular lakes: Rotund, Cuzmintul Mare, Cuzmintul Mic, Gorgova, and South Potcoava. This area is a sanctuary for bird colonies. Keep your cameras ready for pelicans, herons, cormorants, and egrets hiding among the water lilies.

(Stop 1) Midday: The Secrets of Caraorman.
We reach Caraorman Village, one of the most authentic settlements in the Delta. Here, you have two amazing optional experiences:

The Forest Safari (Optional - 45 RON/pers): A local 4x4 transfer takes you to the famous Caraorman Forest. You will see the “Kneeling Oak” (centuries old) and the unique “desert” landscape with sand dunes up to 7m high.

Traditional Fisherman’s Lunch (Optional - 100 RON/pers): An authentic feast including:

• Starter: Carp roe and smoked shad.

• Main: Traditional Catfish Storceag (fish soup) & Fried Carp with polenta and garlic sauce.

• Dessert: Homemade doughnuts.

• Drinks: Water and local wine included.

(Stop 2) Afternoon: Where the River Meets the Sea.
After lunch, we continue through Puiu, Lumina, Roșu, and Roșuleț Lakes, following the Tătaru and Cordon Channels. We reach the most spectacular point: The Danube’s Mouth. Weather permitting, we will navigate to the exact spot where the fresh river water merges with the Black Sea—a unique photographic moment.

(Stop 3 - approx. 1.5 hours) Relaxation.
We dock in Sfântu Gheorghe, a quiet fishing village. You have free time to:

• Relax on one of the last wild beaches in Romania.

• Swim in the Black Sea.

• Walk through the historic harbour and sandy streets.

Evening: The Golden Hour Return At approximately 05:00 PM, we begin our return trip along the Sfântu Gheorghe Branch, passing the villages of Murighiol, Mahmudia, and Nufăru. We expect to arrive back in Tulcea Port around 07:00 PM, as the sun sets over the water
