What you can expect

This tour is a perfect introduction for those of you who have only but a short time in the area.

Departing from Bayeux, you will first reach the Pointe du Hoc (or Longues-sur-Mer Battery): Visit (when accessible) the legendary Pointe du Hoc, where US Army Rangers scaled towering cliffs under enemy fire on June 6, 1944. Your guide will recount the daring mission and its lasting impact. If the site remains closed for renovations, your visit will include the Longues-sur-Mer Battery, one of the best-preserved German coastal defences, offering incredible insight into D-Day strategy and panoramic views across the invasion beaches.

Continue your journey to Omaha Beach, one of the most iconic D-Day landing zones. Walk along the sands where American soldiers bravely fought to secure a foothold in Nazi-occupied France. Your guide will share vivid stories of the intense battle that unfolded here, capturing the emotion and bravery of that historic day.

End your half-day tour with a stop at the Normandy American Cemetery. Located in Colleville-sur-Mer, on the site of the temporary American St. Laurent Cemetery, established by the US First Army on June 8, 1944 as the first American cemetery on European soil in World War II.

After this visit, your guide will drive back to Bayeux.
