What you can expect

  • Begin your adventure with a pickup from Gulu City market. Get to tour the market and its features before heading to Fort Patiko, a historical slave site.

Learn about the site’s history and how it was stopped by Sir Samuel Baker, a British missionary. Sing songs and poems along the way.

Next, hike Ajulu and visit the children’s hill. During slavery, as most adults were taken away, children remained behind. They were kept.

If you are up for more, hike Sir Samuel Baker’s wife hill. A special hill named after the most beautiful woman the locals ever saw. Experience the flat land of savannah grasslands. Bypass Lukodi village as you learn about the existence of its people today.
